Hi,

It is not safe to take albuterol and promethazine-codeine together. There is no documented harmful interaction between albuterol and codeine however, codeine acts by suppressing cough which may interfere with bronchodilator effect of albuterol hence it should be avoided while on albuterol. Codeine may also interact with promethazine causing dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. Moreover, taking albuterol together with promethazine can increase the risk of arrhythmia (an irregular heart rhythm) that may be serious and potentially life-threatening.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
