Bruise, Swelling In Knee, Sitting On Floor For Long Duration. What Could This Be?
Hi, I have had some discomfort in my knee which having a toddler and being on the floor a lot of the time playing I've been increasingly concious of. It's only when I've looked today that I noticed the whole kneecap area is severely bruised and a little swollen. I haven't knocked it at all but did do some light jogging at the start of the week? Any ideas what this could be?! Thank you.
You might have knee bursitis. Knee bursitis is inflammation of a bursa located near your knee joint. A bursa is a small fluid-filled, pad-like sac that reduces friction and cushions pressure points between your bones and the tendons and muscles near your joints. Please consult an orthopedician and get clinically examined to confirm diagnosis. It is a treatable condition. Treatment for knee bursitis often includes a combination of self-care practices and doctor-administered treatments to alleviate pain and inflammation.
Hope this helps
