Bleeding During Sex, Abnormal Periods. Dieting And Exercising. Is This Serious?

I have been dieting for two months now, with excersize also. I had a light period for two weeks straight the third week was a normal flow of light and heavy. The day I thought it stopped my husband and I had sex and during I started bleeding a lot...we had to stop. The next day I didn't have any blood all day. I got home and tested something I read, so I masturbated to get wet. I started bleeding when I got wet. I've always have had irregular periods sometimes having only one every six months. Is this serious?

In my opinion this could be related to either a uterine abnormality, an abnormality of the inner lining if the uterus or a hormonal imbalance. It is difficult to determine the cause without further investigations.

An infection can also be considered if the above listed causes have been ruled out, but I have not included this because you do not seem to have anyother signs of an infection. Please schedule an appointment with your doctor.
