Are White Spots On Thyroid Shown In CAT Scan A Cause For Concern?

had a cat scan done because of breathing problems but they also found three white spots on my thyroid. I have been experiencing fatigue, hot flashes (just like I had when I went through menopause 15 years ago) and also cold flashes where I actually start shivering. These flashes usually happen very closely to each other. Have hard time sleeping because of it. Could something with my thyroid be causing this and should I be concerned about the white spots found through catscan?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Spots on thyroid may be indicative of thyroid calcification or other issue. It is best recommended to evaluate the blood level of thyroid function in terms of level of:
- Free T 3
- Free T 4
- Thyroid stimulating hormone
To judge the actual impact in the circulation with further course of action. One may require a thyroid FNAC as well for the pathological diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
