Are There Side Effects Of Eptoin Given To A Child To Deal With Hematoma On Head After An Injury?

Dear doc my daughter is 2 and 4 months old. She fell from Terris of height of 10 feet. Initially she has 2.8 mm hematoma at the day of injury, but it lost after 24 hr.doctor has prescribe eptoin 5ml. Twice a day. I want to know the side effects of this drug. From day of injury she is not taking his regular diet even she vomits after every meal. Would u please suggest what shud I do for it

Hi, thank you for posting.

From what you refer I can understand that your daughter has experienced a cerebral edema(brain swelling). This syndrome causes a high intracranial pressure and it is shown up with vomiting.
The prognosis is not good.
I recommend you to take her to a neurological hospital, where she will get the needed treatment.

She also needs:
1- A head Ct-scan.
2- Electroencephalography.
3- Blood test.

You should immediately consult a neuropediatrician.

As for Eptoin, I can say that this medicine is not suitable in your daughter case.
