Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Metformin?

I am tired all of the time. Could it be from the metformin? Or possibly Fatigue Syndrome? I don t have much of an appetite, and find myself making myself eat. Not sleeping without medicine. I dont take my blood sugar at home. This is very new to me. I ve read the book, but I can t do everything the book says. Any advice for me? I m 69, weight 180, 5 3 . large boned. Oh, I sweat profusely all of the time.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

The generic metformin can produce abdominal discomfort and poor appetite. The preparation Glucophage XR reduces these problems. If you would let me your medical conditions and the medicines you are on , I would be able to give you an opinion as to what the possible causes for your symptoms are.
Best wishes,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
