Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Betnesol Forte?
hi doctor, i m male 53 years old and was suffering from itching since last 10 years and for the treatment I approached to a skin specialist who recommended Tab Declor SR & Betnesol forte daily basis. initially i was taking Both Tabs. on daily basis and after 5 years 4Tabs. per weak. wheather this much dose of betnesol forte could affect my Kidneys or else where in my body . Please advise me.

Betnesol (betamethasone) is a potent steroid commonly prescribed for the treatment of various inflammatory conditions.
On prolonged use this much dose of betnesol forte may cause thinning of the skin and bones, increased blood sugar, cataract, peptic ulcer, abnormal hair growth, stretch marks, weight gain, lethargy, impaired kidney functions and increased risk of infections.
I advise you to consult your treating doctor if you experience the side effects as listed above so that he can prescribe an alternate effective but a safer medication or a possible dose reduction of betnesol.
