Are There Any Medication That Help Lose Weight?

I have been trying to lose weight for about 3 months. I have changed my eating habits I am working out and I haven’t lost a pound. Plus I drink at least 4-5 16oz bottles of water a day at least. I am on some medications and it has com to my attention that some medications could cause weight loss to be an issue.

Hi
Thanks for contacting HCM.

First of all I have to know your weight. Health concern arises if your body mass index - BMI (ratio of height / body weight) increases. If it is in normal range than you should not be worried about your wight.

Change in eating habit and exercise do reduces weight however it takes time and reduces weight slowly.

Obesity is when BMI is more than 30. In that case orlistat can be started. However it has many side effects like diarrhoea, drowsinee, jaundice, appetite loss etc... So it should be started based on risk benifit ratio, after consulting with physician.

I think this information will help you.
Regards
Dr. Hiren
