Are There Any Adverse Reactions To Prolia Injection?

I am being treated for osteoporosis with Prolia injections every six months. Is it possible after two years of treatment to have an adverse reaction to the drug? I have discomfort in my left hip, left calf and tingling in lower leg and foot upon standing. This began last March after my last injection.

The common adverse effects of Prolia (denosumab) are back pain, pain in extremity, hypercholesterolemia, infection, musculoskeletal pain, cystitis, and pancreatitis. Osteonecrosis of jaw is a rare side effect. Your symptoms might be due to side effect or due to osteoporosis itself.
Advice
1.     Continue Prolia as suggested
2.     Take rest and avoid strenuous physical activity
3.     Take over the counter calcium and vitamin D supplement
4.     If discomfort is intolerable then take ibuprofen after meal on as needed basis
5.      Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
6.     Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily
7.     Get dental check up every year as Prolia causes osteonecrosis of jaw and maintain a very good dental hygiene
8.     If you get any skin or urinary tract infection, consult your doctor immediately for further treatment
9.     Take high protein and calcium diet such as milk, dry fruits, eggs, cheese, fruits pulses, and chicken
10.     Investigations
a.     Serum calcium
b.     Serum vitamin D
I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question
