General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Normally any inflammation & pain should get well in six months post-surgery. Keep your leg elevated on a pillow while on bed & on a stool when you are seated. You should stay in connection with your physiotherapist, Post operative exercises are helpful. Topical creams & patches applied to the knee effectively reduces pain. Continue to take the medications prescribed.

Swelling is a process of healing but if it becomes uncomfortable you should report to your treating doctor, it may be because of the weakening of the implant. You need follow-up treatment. Do not put undue stress on your knee.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
