Are Pins And Needles In Back And Abdomen After Trampolining A Cause For Concern?
my 10 year old son has just finished a session of trampolining and doing front and back flips, he is now complaining of pins and needles in his back and the side of his belly also on his thighs. what could this be and should i be worried. Thanks Jane
Any muscle or ligament strain could be the problem. Mild stretching exercises at home can reduce the symptoms. Pins and needle sensation can also be caused by nerve related problems. Any nerve compression or pinched nerve should be ruled out. Vitamin B12 deficiency can also cause such symptoms. Increase diet containing B12 and also Vitamin D. In case of deficient blood levels, vitamin supplements can be taken.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
