Are Pain Around Shoulders And Neck With Dizziness Post A Hit On Head A Cause For Concern?

Hi,
I'm 68 year old female. a week and a half ago, I fell out of bed and hit my head on the sharp corner of night stand, plus the floor. I didn't go to doc but still have pain around the shoulders and neck and sometimes dizzy. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

As per the case history and symptomatology mentioned in your post, this can be attributed to the impact as well as accumulation of fluid & blood.
Since the injury occurred a week and half ago, and the symptoms are still persisting, it will be better to consult your Doctor.
A proper clinical+ radiological evaluation will be needed to rule out any pathological cause for symptoms.

Till that time, symptomatic relief is obtained by analgesics preparations (like paracetamol), ice compression & adequate rest.

Maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
