Are Nosebleeds A Side Effect Of Excedrin Intake?

Yes mu husband has had a nosebleed once today and once yesterday, he is not prone to nosebleeds i it lasts about 5 min he sticks a piece of toilet tissue in there and it stops. Should we be concerned? I know this is not life threaten or anything, I will make him dr. appointment anyway. He takes a lot of excedrin migraine for headaches, has been for yrs, could that be causing it ? Thank YOU

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Medication your husband is taking namely Excedrin contains a combination of acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine. It is used to treat pain caused by tension headaches and migraine headaches.

Common Excedrin side effects may include: upset stomach, heartburn, depressed mood, feeling anxious or restless and insomnia.

You need to stop taking medication if you have easy bruising or bleeding, and seek medical help immediately.
Hence as you have rightly suspected, his nose bleed could be due to intake of Excedrin.

He should not use tissue paper to stop his nose bleed. Next time it happens, ask him to bend forward and pinch his nose tightly while breathing through nose. The bleeding should stop in about 5 minutes.
Seek medical help immediately.
All the best.
