Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Nausea, Dizziness, Hot Flashes And Difficulty In Swallowing Connected To Brain Tumor?
I have a brain tumor in the base of my skull. It is located near the main artery from my brain. It is small. I have this bizarre head issue that is like water moving thru my head. Most of the time it is left to right. It includes typically nausea, severe dizziness and hot flashes or flushing of my body. I can sometimes notice it when I swallow when I think it is gone. I have issues with swallowing. What are your thoughts as it has stumped everyone? Thanks!
The small brain tumor at the base of the skull may affect the cerebellar fossa with postural instability, nausea, vertigo, balance problems, spinning and other features. Usually, difficulty in swallowing is not a feature of this type of lesion, however, an evaluation of MRI plates with its extent of spread or compression to surrounding structures can help better understanding of the condition.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
