Are Low Grade Fever And Cold Sweats Symptoms Of A Cat Scratch Fever?

Hello, Doctor... Can I get Cat Scratch Fever from my cats if they lick my beverage and/or something I may be eating??? For two weeks now, I have been treated for flu like symptoms ALL of which are listed as symptoms for the CSF..... Also, I still have Low Grade Fevers with non-stop COLD SWEATS.... Ironicly, I have been prescribed same antibiotics...Cipro and Bactrim also listed for CSF.... Thank you, in advance, for any help you can advise... Respectfully yours, Rebecca

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cat scratch disease is a rare disease and it is more common among kids. As per your description of symptoms, cat scratch disease is very unlikely. You might be having common cold or viral fever. In cat scratch fever, you may develop swollen lymph nodes.

Hope I have answered your query. Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
