Are Loss Of Appetite, Back Pain And Headaches Suggestive Of Depression?

i am 19 year old i think i am in a great depression as i cod not perform well in my 12th stndrd .i dnt know how to get out of it .....i dnt feel the life ...i dnt feel exicited in anything,i have loss my appetite,headaches and back pain.......i wish ur advice might get me through this ......thank u

Am sorry that you are going through this.

Every person is unique, so are their responses and emotions to things that are important to them.
For instance, one could have a very strong need or desire to have their own house, while other may just want to rent a house and spend their money on traveling.
How you look at a situation also makes the difference between deciding to give up or trying again.
Some people will give importance to what people (society, friends, neighbours) have to say while others only care about their own actions and thoughts/opinions.

The final year of school is important for most students who wish to pursue further studies and establish themselves in a career of their choice. That alone is a lot of pressure on a student. Add the peer, parents, Society created pressure and it can wreak havoc in a person's performance.and concentration.

My advice : first of all, figure out if your idea of poor performance is defined by people around you OR by you.
Next, did you really give it your best shot ( and I mean your best shot, not in comparison with others). Did you form a study plan, set reasonable study schedules and stick to them? Competitive exams need a lot of preparation time and hard work. If you did not have time or set goals, expecting to perform well was unreasonable and would set you up for unnecessary disappointment.

OPTIONS : there are so many options out there to consider to meet your interests. Explore them. Write down what it is that you as an individual are good at, and what you want out of life.
(stating myself as an example, I took up medicine because I was good intentions he biological sciences in school and we didn't have any doctors in the family. The awe surrounding the profession attracted me. I knew what I didn't want to be and I knew my strong points.. And after a few tries at the competitive exams - yes more than 1 I got through. While I studied and went through years of sleepless nights and rigorous training and studies., I had doubts if I made the right choice. My interest and the satisfaction of having helped, even a little, kept me at it. Graduation and several years later, I look back and realize that I made the right choice. Nothing gives me more satisfaction that helping out someone else. It may make just a small difference for someone but its a world of difference to me)
I want to help you. Liking what you do is important even if it doesn't bring a pat on your back from others. There's plenty of time for that. Focus is vital. Do not let day to day happenings affect your goal. The bigger picture is what is important

Expectations (including yours) set the base for disappointment. Goals (short and long term) and a plan to achieve them are more reasonable and appropriate. You may also have a couple of back up plans
It is absolutely normal to feel down in your situation. I would be too. The period which surrounded these event would have been stressful. Improper handling or dealing with stress can bring about a host of symptoms like yours.
Clinical depression is when this feeling prolongs for over 2 weeks, affects quality of life, relationships and is associated with certain other signs.

The first step in healing is to recognize you have it and seek help. Your have already done this.
Next is collect your thoughts. Identify negative thoughts and their triggers and positive thoughts. Give yourself a break from any thoughts. Write all of it down. This will help to unclutter it. Then take a break for an hour. Tell your self that you can get back to your thoughts after the hour has gone by. Engage in a hobby or exercise of your choice. Music, dance, gardening, cooking, sports. Take your pick.
Initially it will sneak back but the more persistent you get the less power they have.

Once you are able to do this, you are ready to move on.
Keep your face to the Sunshine and you won't see the shadows.
