Are Loose Stools And Abdominal Cramps Due To Taking MiraLAX To Relieve Constipation?

HI Im a 58 year old woman. I had a clean colonoscopy 8.5 years ago. I am presently experiencing low back pain constipation and i have be taking mira lax for a week which helps the constipation but I now have loose thinner stools. I also have mild cramping in the lower pelvic area. I am scheduled for a pelvic sonar and a colonoscopy within the next 2 weeks.

Hi,

The abdomen symptoms could due to laxative, it should not be taken. For constipation, you can try fiber containing diet and increase the water intake. Low back pain could be due to pelvic inflammatory disease and for that, you can try Ibuprofen until you get done the Ultrasonography.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
