Are Loose Bowels Before Hip Replacement Surgery Harmful?

Dr.i am having hip replacement on Tuesday. This week I got cdiff so I have been taking vacamycin. Then I got a urinarry track infection so I took roceftin and I started to take cranberry tablets also.my problom is I have been having quite a lot of bowel movements loose but not diarrhea the strange part is my bowel movements have no smell at all .being I am having hip surgery should I worry,or do you think all of the antibiotics and cranberry tablets have something to do with my bowel problom. Hope it doesn t sound crazy just worried. And need this surgery badly.

Antibiotics can cause loose bowel movements or diarrhea, so it is possible that it is responsible for this symptoms.

In some cases the use of probiotics would help to decrease this side effect. These can be used on their own or in some yogurts.

Hopefully the symptoms would resolve and you would be fit for your surgery.
