Are Light Headedness, Dizziness And Headaches Dangerous?

I am a 42 year old female and I have had lightheadedness, dizzieness, bad headaches which originate in the back of my neck where the vertibrae meet the skull and then wrap around my head. The symptoms come and go several times a day, almost like waves. This has been happening for 7 days.

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

There is a strong possibility of the headache arising from the cervical spondylosis. In this the muscles of the neck are very tense and eventually lead to the pressure on the nerves of the area above them. The muscles are so pulled that the pain can persist throughout the head

The best way to diagnose this would be to get an x ray of the cervical spine. This may show changes that are in sync with the condition described, like straightening of the spine, or vertebral osteophytes etc.

If this comes out to be true, a simple course of muscle relaxants and hot fomentation, and a general course of physiotherapy will help.

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Please feel free to ask another query. I would be glad to help you. Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
