Are Heart Palpitations A Cause For Concern?

My heart rate spikes from around 70ish to 107-121 randomly through out the day. It does go back down pretty quickly. I do have some random chest pain above my left breast area. Not sure if that s related or not as the spikes have accured without any pain and the pain has been serious enough I considered going to ER and heart rate still in 60-80 s No reason and always resting. Is that normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks you for asking this question. I have undergone through your question. I understand your concern. No, this is not normal. I may point towards cardiac arrhythmia which is of serious concern. Any kind of chest pain may be serious and should be properly investigated.
Advise
1. Consult a heart specialist of your area
2. Investigations - ECG, stress test, lipid profile

Good luck
