Are Headaches And Fever Normal During Wisdom Tooth Impaction?

my daughter has a fever and she says her bottom jaw hurts .she says she can feel a tooth pushing through she is 14 years old ,my question is do you reALLY RUN A FEVER WHEN WISDOM TEETH ARE BREAKING THROUGH.HER HEAD IS THROBBING TOO.SHE IS HOT TO TOUCH ALSO,I HAVE HER ON 800 MILLIGRAMS MOTRIN EVERY 8 HOURS BUT IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY THEN COME BACK WORSE,NOW SHE DEVELOPED SORES ON HER LIPS,I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHE HAS IF ITS A COMBINATION OF THE FLU AND TEETH.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain slight fever along with sores in mouth and eruption of wisdom tooth can be related as inflammation caused during eruption of wisdom tooth and pain can lead to slight rise in temperature of body..
But in case if there is high fever it can be due to viral infection..
I would suggest that she can take Acetaminophen for fever..
For mouth ulcers gargle with warm saline solution..
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Take multivitamin supplements..
Gargle with antiseptic mouthwash..
Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water..
In case of no resolution consult a General Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and also advise you blood test to confirm the cause and treat accordingly..
