Are Having Dark Vaginal Bleeding And Mild Cramps Natural During Menopause?

Hi, My name is Kathy. I am 57 yo and am in menopause. I have been menopausal for at least 5 years. I started bleeding last night (it was bright red). And it continues today (brown color) with light cramping. It s very light and only see it when I wipe. Do I need to be concerned about this? Thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Menopause means that there has been at least 1 year of no bleeding.

If you passed this time and you are currently seeing blood then you do need to be seen by your gynaecologist.

This is called post menopausal bleeding and though it may be related to a benign cause, more serious causes need to be ruled out.
It may be related to the presence of a benign (non cancerous) growth or changes in lining of uterus.

It can also be related to cancerous changes of the uterus, endometrial cancer.

Examination, ultrasound and biopsy of the uterus may be suggested.

I hope this helps
