Are Having A Sudden High Fever, Cough And Head Pressure A Serious Concern?

Hi -- I was in Florida on the Gulf coast on Tuesday and here is an outbreak of red tide. I went to the urgent care facility and was given 4 days of a prednasone taper down and an albuterol inhaler. I left Florida the next day because I was feeling as if the top of my head was going to blow up. My cough sounds like croup. It is now Friday and my temperature has gone from 100 on Wednesday to 101.5. At what point (if any) should I go to an urgent care facility where I live? Thanks so much.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you should see a doctor as soon as possible. The increase in fever may indicate pneumonia. It would be a good idea for you to see a doctor today.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
