Are Granulocytes With Unequal Blasts Composed Of Metamyelocytes, Myelocytes And Promyelocytes Something To Be Looked Into?

I had a CBC w/ differential run yesterday. Everything came back within normal limits, but there was a not with% immature granulocytes; Immoture granulocytes are left-shifted granulocytes and do not equal blasts, composed of metamyelocytes, myelocytes, and promyelocytes. Is this something I should have looked into?

Hi,

To give a complete interpretation of the blood test I need to have a look at the results myself. Please send them. As per your details, I can say that high percentage of immature granulocytes are indicating possible infection inside your body.

To fight this infection, more white blood cells are being produced and secreted without being totally matured. Further tests are needed to determine what this infection is:

- urine analysis
- angina or other respiratory infection

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
