Are Frequent Urination, Numbness In The Hands And Anemia Signs Of A UTI?

I think I may have a UTI. I do feel like I need to urinate frequently, with very little or no success. Also, I have a tingly numbness in my hands and fingers right during or after this need to urinate. A side note, I am slightly anemic and do take B12 supplements to increase red blood cell count. I ve not taken them recently though, because I ran out a month or so ago. Maybe not related, but relevant to medical history: I m hypothyroid. I was born that way, it was a very rare condition involving a total lack of chemical signal and the pituitary.

Hi,

Frequent urination, numbness in the hands and anemia could be other signs, more than signs of UTI. It could associated with low B12, pernicious anaemia and carpal tunnel syndrome or from hypothyroidism. UTI itself could also be associated with prostatic disease, cystitis, renal disease, diabetes, mellitus and other systemic disease. You need total urological and genital assessment including MSU imaging, pathology, hematology, biochemistry drawn in urology if necessary and even thyroid specialist and GIT specialist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Law, General & Family Physician
