Are Frequent Urination, Lower Right Abdominal And Groin Pain Symptoms Of UTI?
Hi I just did the azo urine test strip and tested positive for leukocytes but negative for nitrate. I have frequent urinary symptoms with pain on my lower right side and groin area that shoots down my leg going on for about two weeks. I was taking bentyl for my IBS but quit taking it. Could I possibly still have UTI? Had a ultrasound on my appendix yesterday just waiting to hear back.
Frequent urination, lower right abdominal and groin pain with positive leukocytes (more than normal limit which approx 10 cells) in urine could be indicative of urinary tract infection.
You need to check for detailed medical history and thoroughly clinical examination with ultrasound KUB region by a urologist to get ruled out any other kidney or urinary tract pathology.
You might require antibiotics (quinolones specially levofloxacin in high dose or amixocillin with clavulanic acid) to combat urinary infection completely with other symptomatic treatment like analgesics, antihistamines and antacids available over the counter.
So,better you should see physician or urologist for complete treatment.
