Hi & Welcome to HCM. I can understand your concern. Muscle aches in the legs are suggestive of peripheral neuropathy caused by the side effects of Macrobid (Nitrofurantoin). This medication can also cause body ache, tingling and numbness sensation in the hands or feet. This is usually a reversible effect which subsides after stopping the medication. However the high blood glucose (sugar) level needs to evaluated by your treating physician. You may be asked to undergo fasting blood glucose, post prandial (post meal) blood glucose and urine analysis to rule out diabetes. Hope the information would help you.
