Are Diarrhoea And Gastritis Side Effects Of Pantocid HP?

Hi doctor hope you are well. my name is maddy am a 32 yr old male and am suffering from h.pylori infection i was advised by the doctor to take pantocid hp for 2 weeks. i have been using since 3 days but am experiencing side affects such as diarhea and gas, should i take antacids or should i just continue with the pantocid hp. kindly let me know . thanks

Hello Maddy .
As you diagnosed H.Pylori and for your information I want to tell you that PANTOICD hp ( PNATOPRAZOLE ) is most favored drug for H pylori eradication .
However, only in 1.5 % cases this produces diarrhea , so need not to worry and this remain only for few days and the drug will adjust .
So I recommend you continue this drug till advised by your treating doctor.
However , if severe diarrhea ( watery >5 motions / day ) you can stop it and consult your doctor .
Avoid fried , greasy , oily foods .
