Are Antibiotics Required To Heal A Us Filled Incision Post Sphincterotomy?

Hi I had sphincteretomy 6 days ago. I went to doc today and he said that incision sight shows a little pus and asked me to put pressure on it to relieve the pus while I am taking sitz baths. He said no antibiotics are required at this point. Is he correct? When will I heal? Please advise.

Hi,
Your doctor has seen the area so is in the best position to advise. I suggest you wait a few more days and if there is still pus or the area becomes more painful, swollen or inflamed then re-visit your doctor who may then wish to prescribe antibiotics.
