Are Cytopan And Cloxacap Right Medications?

Hi there quick question for you. I just came back from an emergency walk in for a very infected toe. I was curious as to what the medications did exactly as for where I live getting proper information is tough; living as an expat in a 3rd world country. They proscribed me 50mg of Cytopan 4 times a day (Which I found weird because everywhere I am reading online its to do with pregnancy of abortions. They also proscribed me 500mg cloxacap 4 times a day for the infection.

Hi,

Noted your history about having very infected toe, went to Emergency-walk-in clinic who prescribed you Cytopan 50 and Cloxacap 500.
It seems that Cytopan contains Diclofenac. In some countries it can have additional misoprostal.
See the contents of the Cytopan and if contains plain Diclofenac then take this 2-3 times a day.
If it contains something else, stop taking it and inform your Doctor, consult him for any other medication.
Cloxacap is most probably an antibiotic and if it contains Cloxacillin then please continue.
In addition elevate the foot and leg above heart level in laying down position to reduce the pain and edema.
May need proper incision and drainage if the abscess has already developed.
Daily dressing with Liquid Povidone Iodine.
All these things will help you to get a cure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
