Are Azithromycin And Ascoril Syrup Advisable For Persistent Dry Cough?
Hi, From one and half months i have a dry cough and i haven t taken any medicine. Just i used to gargle water with salt and turmeric powder. It used to go and come again after 2-3 days. From yesterday night i got cold as well. My doctor suggested me to take Kuff -Q, azithromicin and ascoril D syrup. Does this right prescription?
Yes, the medicines prescribed by your doctor seems okay according to the symptoms you described. Kuff-Q contains acetaminophen that relieves fever and pain that may be associated with cold. Azithromycin is an antibiotic to combat the persistent bacterial infection in your throat and Ascoril-D syrup is given to give relief in dry cough.
You can continue with the warm salt water gargles and turmeric powder in addition to the medicines prescribed. Cough drop lozenges like strepsils available over the counter can also give relief in cough. You should stay away from cold water and diet until you find relief from cough.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
