Applying Silvadene On Burn On Arm Caused By Hot Plate Is Best Advise?

My 25 year old daughter received a burn on her arm from a very hot plate (she is a restaurant server). This happened 2 days ago. She now has a thin red line starting up her arm. I told her she probably has an infection and should go to the ER now (doctor's hours are over now). She saw a doctor the next day, and he gave her Silvadene to apply to the burn. She's on her way to the ER, so was this the best advice?

Hi,

I am quite empathetic to the burn on hand of your daughter. Your daughter is prescribed with a good cream application. It is basically meant for all the burn cases. SO she can continue the same. This can be applied two to three times a day. Apply it in such a thin layer that it should not be visible by naked eye. Do not try to rub it.

Just check out if she has pain or any type of oozing on the affected area. It may be a sign of secondary infection. Let her be given 3-4 days of rest and the hand should be kept above heart level to prevent swelling and pain.

Best wishes for early recovery.
