Any Medicines That Are Non-benzos To Reduce Severe Restlessness, Anxiety And Insomnia ?

My 79 yr old father has severe restlessness, anxiety and severe insomnia. He is taking gabapentin 1x a day and respirdal 2x a day. He has a reaction to benzodiazepines (feels extreme anxiety) so he cannot have those RX s. What meds would be optional for him that are non benzo s?

HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Well first of all the cause for his restlessness and anxiety needs to be evaluated.

I advise you to consult a Psychiatrist for that.

As of non benzo sedatives you can give me Zolpidem . but this is a Prescription only drug , you require a prescription from your doctor . Hence kindly consult .

Hope you find this information useful.

Regards.
