Any Drugs That Fuse Epiphyseal Plates Or Stop Growth? Explain Situation?

Hello, Are there any drugs that fuse the epiphyseal plates (or stop growth in height). I heard that steroids fuse these plates, is it because excess external testosterones leads the body to believe that you are finished growing. Ps : I do powerlifting. I will be 20 in April 2013. height 6 5. I had an x ray of the growth plates on the wrist or the pelvis and they told me I stopped growing, but what is the margin error on these types of x rays because I believe I have growed a couple centimeters. Cordially, Matt

Hello and welcome to HCM

The normal growth process from childhood to adolescence to adulthood is a continous process which occurs under the influenze of certain hormones.
At adolescence, there is increased secretion of sex hormones- testosterone in males and estrogens in females.
These hormones are responsible for growth spurt and development of secondary sexual charaters.
After sexual maturity has achieved these hormones act on the ends of long bone (epiphyses) to close them. No further linear growth takes place.
The average age for stoppage of growth is around 14-15 in females and few years later in males.
The process that I described in the natural phenomenon going on in the body.
If steroids are taken from outside for any other purpose, they cause similar effect.
At your age the piphyses must have closed and it is normal at this age.

Thanks and take care
