Any Cause Of Concern After Hitting Head Badly On Concrete?

I was pretty drunk the other night and hit my head badly on concrete. I spent all day recovering on the first day and the second day was back at work. I was still very tired and haven't been able to sleep and eat properly. It's the third day and I have a bruise on my brow. Is there anything to worry about?

Hi,
Thank you for using healthcaremagic.com
I'm Sorry to hear about your injury. In case of head injuries, there are several symptoms that you need to look out for, these include symptoms like nausea, vomiting, persistent headaches, weakness or numbness in any limb, dizziness, bleeding from the ear or nose, blurring or other disturbances in vision. If you have any of the above symptoms then you do need to see your doctor as soon as possible and maybe even get a CT scan done to rule out internal injuries.

The symptoms which you have described are usually not associated with any serious injury to the brain. The bruise which you have should start to resolve within the next 5 - 7 days. The fatigue which you are experiencing is likely not due to the head injury, it's possible that you may be dehydrated after drinking so much a couple of days back.

I would suggest that you increase your fluid intake and see if that helps with the fatigue. If however the symptoms persist for another 24 - 48 hours or you develop any of the symptoms i have described above, then you would have to see your doctor as soon as possible.
