4.5 Year Old Daughter, Fever, Headache, Throat Pain, Stomach Pain. Taking Antibiotics, Still Having Fever. Advice?
Hello Doctor, My daughter is 4.5 years old. Suddenly she has fever (101)from yesterday afternoon. Complains of headache, throat pain and stomach pain. Consulted a doctor and gave antibiotic and Crocin 5 ml each yesterday night. The temperate shot up to 102 in the mid night. Now she is having fever little less than 100. Fever continuing is it okay.
Hello, it is not OK. Persistent rise in temperature in children less than 5 years poses the risk of febrile seizures. follow tepid sponging(Rub the body of the child with water which is at room temperature) at regular interval to bring down the body temperature. If the fever still persist then consult your doctor and request for lab investigation ilke CBC, widal test, Peripheral smear and urinalysis to arrive at a diagnosis.
