3 Year Kid, Reoccurring Redness Outside Vagina, Stings. Using Anti Fungal Cream. Suggestions?

My 3 year old has reoccurring redness outside vagina on labia running back toward anus. It stings badly based on her reaction. I have used mild anti fungal cream to help. Should I clean her labia every day with water? She showers every 2nd day, does not use perfumed products but I do not actively clean her private parts. Thank you.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It is advisable to clean the private parts with fresh running water two to three times a day and ensure that they are wiped clean. If the redness persists despite this management and the use of the anti-fungal cream then it will be better to get her examined by a doctor.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.
