18 Months Old Right Eye Swollen Dark Purple

my daughter is 18 months old last month she woke up with her right eye swollen shut and dark purple, her head from her hair line back on the right side was a pinkish color, and when i rubbed her head on that side her hair would fall out in lumps. The hospital did a c-t scan said it was bruised tissue on the right side, but did not say what was wrong with her eye, or why her hair was fallen out. they did no test for that.So they said it was child abuse. Her hair was fallen out a month before this but it stop so i didn't worry about it, i honestly think there is a health issue that is being over looked. no body hit her, she did not fall the night before. when i woke her up that was how she looked. could you please help me am a despret mom seeking answers.

Given the situation any physician would first suspect Child abuse as the cause. It is the ethical responsibility of the physician to suspect and protect the children. The injury to the scalp can cause the blood to accumulate around the lax tissues of eye lids and thus cause the black eye. You need to get your daughter checked for any coagulation disorders (clotting disorders) as they may cause bleeding spontaneously or after mild trauma. You can get a coagulation profile done. We also recommend that you watch your child for a couple of days when she sleeps as there is a chance that she be banging her head and compulsively pulling out her hair. In that case, she may have to be evaluated by a neurologist, as it may signify any underlying brain disorder.
