Question: there is a slight swelling on my upper right arm. painful shoulder with motions , lifting, stretching and reaching in back. the swollen area has shooting pain at times .

I see your photo.
I think it is bursitis of shoulder. I can recommend you to take rest. Don't do big moves.
Use ice compresses over it.
Use antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen, aspirin for pain.
If it still persists corticosteroid injections are needed.
