Brief Answer:
Diet and weight reduction...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I assume this is total cholesterol count. 242 total cholesterol count is marginally elevated and it can be controlled with weight management and life style change. Accordingly the following are my recommendations:
1. Keep body weight in check. You should start cardio as well as muscle strengthening exercise - atleast 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week.
2. Avoid alcohol and smoking if any.
3. Restrict use of oil and fats. This includes butter, ghee, cheese and others.
4. High calorie diet should be restricted. If you are overweight, I will strongly recommend to follow a dedicated diet plan prepared by nutritionist.
5. Herbal drinks like green tea use may benefit you on long term use.
6. Monitor cholesterol values annually and follow up with your doctor.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
