Question: i have a seasonal allergy every spring and every spring doctor gave me antibiotics. Same this year.Just finished 7 days amoxicillin 500 mg and having headache every morning, spitting mucus in morning, taking zortac for all year around and not feeling good at all. What can I do? Is zortac not working, because i use it for very long time? Miserable feeling, really can't do much to avoid the outside - dog need to walk, even dust trigger my allergy , start coffin again... Is any chance I have serious head infection -mucus in morning?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is possible that Zyrtec has a decreased efficacy because of prolonged usage.. I would recommend that you discontinue Zyrtec for two weeks and replace it with a mast cell stabilizer as singulair once daily for 14 days together with irrigating your nose with a sea water nasal drops to help decrease the congestion and inflammation. It is unlikely that you have a head infection but if after using singulair the symptoms persist then you should get a ct scan of your sinuses to exclude sinus infection.

I hope you find this helpful.
