Question: hi net doctor! I am a girl / woman of 19 years. It all started 10 months ago. I was admitted to the psychiatric ward and got some medicine that was abilify. When I got it, I got it really bad. Dizziness, nausea, headache, difficulty breathing, extremely frequent urination, some foods tasted different and lack of appetite. However, after I got rid of the abilify, I quickly got it better. But after 8-9 months I got it bad and have had it for almost 3 months now. The same symptoms I experience described further up are the same as I experience now. However, I am not on any medicine except Quetiapine but I was also on it when I got the other medicine (abilify). I am currently hospitalized and have been there for his 5 months. One day in March I started out of the blue to get the same symptoms as described and that prevents me from living like a normal 19 woman. I have expressed Mom's concern for family and staff out in the psychiatric ward but they all say it's something I imagine and it's my anxiety that does it. I just can't see why it should be my anxiety that does, since I have lived with anxiety for almost 5-6 years where it has not been as bad as it is now (if now it is anxiety) I have also been at own doctor a myriad of times and has been checked my breathing, listened to my lungs and cardiogram. The doctor said that absolutely nothing was wrong somatic. So I just can't understand how it (the anxiety) can turn out to be bodily. It's hard not to think about it when it's 24/7 the symptoms are there and I can't relax in myself. I am becoming insane and am very unhappy. What can I do and maybe you have some advice on what it could be? (It must be said that I have a lot of distrust of the doctors and those in psych) hope that you can help.

Greeting Emilie.

Brief Answer:
I think you need a second opinion from some other psychiatrist in your city

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that presence of no abnormality on repeated testing generally indicates that the problem is with mind, which can not be tested through tests. Since you have anxiety over the last many years, which often generates bodily symptoms. Although the mechanism is not known but this is common observation that long standing anxiety often results in development of bodily symptoms, otherwise known as somatisation.

I also request you to seek second opinion from some other psychiatrist in your city.

In case that is not possible I am willing to help you through online consultation. For this purpose I am currently available at www.icliniq.com/ashok

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
