What Does A Cyst In The Liver Indicate?
Question: hi Doctor, my father is around 74 years. recently he did his master check up and we got to know that he has cyst in lever. I'm worried about it. please let me know what needs to be done. Regards Rxxxxx

* There are multiple reasons for liver cysts where there is fluid accumulation in the parts of the liver.
* If he has no symptoms, the cysts are kept under observation with regular follow up every 6 months by ultrasound examination. Along with general measures as:
- dietary measures to avoid dairy fat , spices.
- maintaining body weight , blood sugar , cholesterol , liver tests under control.
- no smoking or alcohol if using.
* If he has complained of pain, vomiting, fever, abdomen distension, jaundice or others then particular management plan has to be figured out as aspiration of cyst, excision or else.
