Brief Answer:
This is oral thrush, treatment recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask a Doctor service,

I carefully read your query and understand your concern.

The picture uploaded shows lesions that can be oral thrush. Oral thrush causes white thick layers over red inflamed mucosa and cause reduced appetite in children due to local irritation.

Your child needs nystatin 100.000 Ui/ml, 1 mg applied in the mouth 4 times a day.

If you are breastfeeding the child, you may need a cream as well such a clotrimazole or miconazole cream twice a day. Apply it after breastfeeding the baby and wash the breast before feeding the baby (so the baby does not take of that cream in the mouth).

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you.

I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,
