Question: Yes n XXXXXXX 2019 my alt and ast both were 24. Two weeks ago the alt was 60 and the ast was 124. I am on some new meds and they include alipirinol, Voltaren, and cymbalta. Are these number alarmingly high? Since I got the results I have quit alcohol and shied away from the three meds as I read they are not liver friendly. I also take 160 mg of valsartin w 25 mg hctz once a day. Are the 60 and 124 number alarmingly high?

Brief Answer:
Your ALT and AST are not alarming.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Thank You for tge query.

We can say your liver enzymes levels are only slightly elevated and should be no reason to concern. Almost all of medicines you do take can cause such reaction and it is usually temporal. Please try to cut alcohol if you drink any (even ocasionally) and recheck liver enzymes in a month or so. If still elevated you should consider changing antidepressants to some other.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
