Will Taking A Higher Quantity Of Tylenol Be As Effective As Taking Advil?
Question: I m 70..... I have a torn medial meniscus and arthritis in my left knee. I tore it 2 months ago. I also take Eliquis blood thinner and an anti arrythmia drug. I have been taking ibuprophen (Advil)for knee pain but my orthopedist said take a total of 6 Tylenol instead ( spread out over a 24 hour period) because of stomach issues and possible bleeding... due to Advil....?Will taking that many tylenol be as effective as taking Advil??? I need pain relief that doesnt increase risk of bleeding. Please give me your opinion.

Tylenol is an effective pain killer and if taken regularly every four hours will give you proper relief.
Tylenol is not associated with the side effect of bleeding. Advil increases the tendency to bleed. While having a blood thinner taking Advil can be risky. For a torn meniscus, complete rest is the best way to decrease pain and to hasten healing.

Is Voltaren or any other pain relief... maybe Tramadol... good for this?

No use of any massage ointment,Tramadol is better.
