Question: I went to bed late and when I did got to sleep suddenly I awoke and from my should's to my head I was having a had spasm then I went back to sleep? What is causing this?

The spasm that you had while sleeping can be a muscle cramp. If this has happened for the first time then there is nothing to worry. It is not indicative of any disease pathology. Such solitary episodes do not have any clinical significance.
In case the episodes are recurrent then a detailed evaluation from a neurologist is recommended.
