Need to be ambulating now

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.

I have gone through your question and understand your concern.

Frankly speaking, considering the injuries mentioned above, you should have been fully recovered and working by now.Two months is a big time for such injuries to heal up.None of the injuries are severe enough to keep you in pain after 2 months post-injury.

Ideally,at our clinic, for such injuries we apply a plaster splint and advice complete bed rest for 21 days. After that the patient is advised gradual mobilisation.
In your case the MRI seems to be done pretty late.

But,i feel by now almost all your ligamental injuries may have healed almost completely and you can start gradual mobilisation, knee strengthening exercises and ambulation in knee brace.

After 15 days or so,you can get a repeat MRI done to assess the extent of recovery and then you can plan to resume your duties.

You can reduce weight naturally by exercises, walking, diet changes like abstinence from junk food, sweet, oily stuff etc. Eat more of salads and fruits .

You can take calcium and vitamin tablets along with the present medicines.

Shelcal or coral calcium are good calcium tablets- to be taken once a day for 2-3 months

Rinifol or Becosule-Z are vitamin supplements - to be taken once daily for 1 month.

I hope the answer was useful.

Thank you

Kind regards.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

When should i take vitamin tablet - before meals or after meals? what is the mg?

I have not bought any knee brace yet. Is there any commercial name for it or is there any special type of knee brace for this type of injury? is it made of cotton?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back.

Take calcium tablet 500 mg - 1 tablet after meals in night
Vitamin tablet-adult dose- 1 tablet after meals in afternoon

The knee brace is called Long knee brace or immobiliser with hinges at the knee joint level. With the brace on you can bend the knee and you can use it at work as well.

It contains cotton and synthetic material, depends on the manufacturing company.
Thank you.

doctor thank u so much for your kind reply. You have cleared all my doubts.

For external applications i am applying speronac gel twice a day and applying hot water bag once in the night. Do you suggest any other oil/gel for external application and any home remedy other than hot water bag

For ligament tear i should take rest. If i do simple excercise will it affect it

Detailed Answer:
Hi
welcome back.

Use speronac gel in morning ,before taking bath.

Apply elagesic or arnopen liniment in night, before going to bed.
Liniments are to be rubbed gently over the affected area skin for 30-45 minutes before going to bed.

Do hot fomentation only while taking bath with warm water.
No need for hot fomentation at night.

No complete rest is needed now for ligament injuries.

Just using knee brace and doing quadriceps-hamstrings strengthening exercises are enough at this moment..

Thank you.

Thank you doctor for your kind reply.

The physio therapist taught me the following exercises to strengthen my knees.
1. sitting in the chair and lift the legs
2. sitting in the chair and move both legs right and left
3. Lie down flat and raise the legs
4.Lie down flat and press the knee with towel.

Is it same as quadriceps-hamstrings strengthening exercises. Is there any other exercises? How long i should do?
