Brief Answer:
Just do the third dose only

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

hepatitis B vaccination requires three doses. The second dose should be done at least one month after the first and the third should be done at least six months apart. Notice that I've used "at least". This means that you can do the last dose now even if a long time has passed since the second one.

After the third dose you can check your anti-HBs antibody. If your antibodies are high enough then you're OK. A good antibody answer after the third dose is supposed to protect you for life. Even if the antibody levels fall after some time, the protection would still be there.

I hope you find my answer helpful!
I'll be glad to answer any further questions you may have.

Kind Regards!

The second dose was taken about a year ago, so are you saying that there is no need ro start all over again for the third time. So can i go ahead and take the third dose even if the last dose was about a year ago?

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
The answer is yes. You don't have to start over. Just do the antibody test after vaccination (give it a month or two after vaccination) to confirm adequate immune response. If the response is less than adequate (antiHBs<10) then a full vaccination schedule should be tried once more.

Kind Regards!
