Dear XXXX, thanks for choosing HCM. Cervical fusion means joining of two adjacent vertebrae. It results in to stiffness of your back and difficult movement. Post degenerative disc disease means stiffness in the lower back as disc has been destroyed or reduced in thickness. Disc acts as a cushion between two vertebrae. Cushion is gone and causing stiffness.

Hit a thanks. Thank you

So I am to assume, the med record is stating that there is orthoarthitis in my lower lumbar, as well, by the medical record statment.

Brief Answer:
means your cervical fusion was done for post disc degenerative disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Post disc degenerative disease in your records means your cervical fusion was done for post disc degenerative disease. It is in relation to your cervical surgery. You had degenerative ( age related) changes in cervical spine and cevical disc for which cervical fusion has been done. Your records may also means degenerative arthritis is also in lumbar spine if commented after lumbar spine x Rays but there should be mention of it ( lumbar spine).

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
